Project Goal

Rockbridge County and City of Lexington’s initiative to focus on expanding certification offerings in both the manufacturing and welding labs at the Innovation Center (RCHS IC).  The approved funding will be applied to the forklift purchase, welding lab equipment, Fluid Fundamentals equipment, and curriculum development.  Upon implementation, the students will have the opportunity to complete the following credentials:

Manufacturing Program:

  • Manfacturing Technician Level 1 (MTI)
  • OSHA Forklift Operator Certification

Welding Lab Program:

  • NCCER Core – Introduction to Basic Construction Skills

Dual Enrollment Welding Certifications at MGCC:

  • Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW) – AWS Certification
  • Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) – AWS Certification
  • Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) – AWS Certification
  • Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) – AWS Certification
